Abstract

|
노인이 지각한 사회적 지지정도와 건강상태를 파악하고 이에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하며, 사회적 지지와 건강상태와의 관계를 규명하고자 1992년 7월 10일부터 29일까지 광주광역시에 거주하는 65세 이상의 활동과 의사소통이 가능한 노인 182명을 대상으로 본 연구를 시도하였다.
질문지를 사용한 면접법에 의해 수집된 자료는 SAS를 이용하여 백분율, t-test, ANOVA, Pearons Correlation으로 분석하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다.
1. 대상자의 건강상태는 총 375점 중 평균 262.5점이었다고 건강에 영향을 미치는 요인은 다음과 같았다.
① 일반적 특성 중에서는 연령, 종교, 학력, 월수입, 자신의 건강에 대한 긍정적 인식, 동거자수, 동거형태로 나타났다. 연령이 적을수록(F=8.56, P<.001), 종교를 가진 노인(t=7.77, P<.01), 학력이 있는 노인(t=14.97, P<.001), 월수입이 높을수록(F=8.07, P<.001), 자신의 건강이 좋다고 지각할수록(F=3.27, P<.05), 동거자수가 1-2명일 때(F=6.75, P<.001) 노인부부만 동거하는 경우(F=5.42, P<.01)에 건강상태가 유의하게 좋았다.
② 사회적 지지상황 중에서는 사회적 지지에 대한 만족도, 지지제공자와의 접촉빈도, 생활방식이나 가치관의 유사정도로 나타났다. 사회적 지지에 대한 만족도가 높을수록(F=3.08, P<.05), 지지제공자와의 접촉빈도가 잦을수록(F=4.08, P<.01), 생활방식이나 가치관이 유사할수록(F=3.60, P<.01) 건강상태가 유의하게 좋았다.
2. 대상자가 지각하는 사회적지지 정도는 총 200점 중 평균 139.5점이었고 사회적 지지정도에 영향을 미치는 요인은 일반적 특성 중에서 배우자, 학력, 동거자수, 동거형태로 나타났다. 배우자가 있는 노인(t=3.04, p<.01), 학력이 있는 노인(t=9.59, p<.01) 동거자수가 1-2명일 때(F=13.52, p<.001) 노인부부만 동거할 경우(F=5.79, p<.01)에 사회적 지지정도를 유의하게 높게 지각하였다.
3. 사회적 지지와 건강상태와의 관계는 순상관관계를 보였다(r=.4141, P<.001)
4. 신체적 건강과 사회적 건강(r=.3031, p<.001), 신체적 건강과 심리적 건강(r=.6421, p<.001), 심리적 건강과 사회적 건강(r=.4843, p<.001)이 모두 상호 순상관관계를 보였다.
5. 사회적 지지제공자에 따른 지지형태와 만족도
사회적 지지제공자가 자녀라고 대답한 노인이 전체의 56.6%로 가장 많았고, 그 중 66.9%가 주로 물질적 지지를 받았다고 하였으며, 54.4%가 만족하다고 하였다. 지지 제공자가 배우자라고 대답한 노인이 전체의 43.6%로 두 번째로 많았고 그중 84.1%가 주로 정서적 지지를 받았다고 하였으며, 93.6%가 만족하다고 하였다.

This study was done to know the relationship between perceived social support and the health status in the Elderly. The subjects consisted of 182 active and communicable persons aged over 6 5 living in Kwang-Ju. Data was collected though interview with questionnaire from July 10 to 29, 1992. The questionnaires were the Scale of Social Support and the Health Assessment Scale for the Elderly. Analysis of data was done by percentage, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson Correlation.
The results were summarized as follows.
1. The average score of Health status in the elderly was 262.5 of total 375, and related to age(F=8.56, p<.001), religion(t=7.77, p<.01), educational level(t=14.97, p<.001), income(F=8.07, p<.001), perceived health status(F=3.27, p<.05), number of persons living with(F=6.75, p<.001), people who was living with(F=5.42, p<.01), satisfaction with social support(F=3.08, p<.05), frequency of social support(F=4.08, p<.01), and similarity of life style to supporter(F=3.60, p<.01).
2. The elderly who were supported from their sons of daughters were the highest number(56.6%) of all, and 66.9% of them said that they received material support and 54.4% of them satisfied with it. The elderly being supported from his or her spouse were 34.6% of all, 84.1% of them received emotional support, and 93.6% of them satisfied with it.
3. The average score of perceived social support in the elderly was 139.5 of total 200. The subjects perceived significantly high social support in situation of living with their spouse(F=3.04, p<.01), having any educational level(F=9.59, p<.01), having only one or two family members.
4. Social support and health status were positively related(p<.001). The more elderlies perceived social support, the higher the elderlies’ health status.
5. The relationship among physical, emotional and social health status were positive relations each other(p<.001).
